Balloon Classes
All
of the Balloon Classes are taught by Margie Padgitt, CBA, (Certified
Balloon Artist) a 19-year industry veteran. See some of our work.
Twisting 101: Learn from a balloon
industry professional how to make basic twists, balloon
dogs, cats, funny hats, beautiful balloon flowers, pretty
fish, and especially how to use non-round balloons in
decorating. We discuss 130's, 260's, and 350's, and
even twisting round balloons! 11/2 - 3 hour class.
Balloon Decorating 101: At this intensive
all-day workshop you'll learn everything from the basics of
balloon handling, to delivery arrangements, speed
techniques, centerpieces, buffet arrangements, table
topiaries, and string-of-pearl arches. We also talk about
how to price your work, and safe handling and transportation
of helium and nitrogen tanks. An ideal workshop for balloon meetings
and seminars. Course booklet to take home. 8-hour class.
Hands-on. Beginner Level.
Advanced Balloon Decorating: Learn
how to make cluster arches, spiral arches, canopies, giant
topiaries, cloud 9 arches, framework with hearts and other
shapes, life-size and giant people sculptures, using SDS,
working with foam-cor, spray paint and air brush, lighting,
and utilizing fresh and silk flowers and other mediums with
balloons. We also cover the business side of the
balloon business such as how to price to make a profit,
photographing your work, using the internet to market your
business, and much more. Course booklet to take home. 8-hour
intensive class. Intermediate- Advanced level.
Balloon Arches: This is a 1 1/2
- 2 hour class for conventions and industry meetings. Learn
how to build a string-of-pearl arch and many variations, a
spiral cluster arch, arches with patterns, tulle cluster
arch, entrance arch, and arches on frames. How to build your
own arch frames, too! A MUST for the serious balloon
decorator. Intermediate level.
Flowers
and Balloons: Whether you are a florist who wants to learn
how to use more balloons, or a balloon artist who wants to
learn how to use more flowers, this class is for you!
Find out how easy it is to use both mediums together and how
by following a few simple rules of design, you can create
unique and memorable works of art. We talk about
centerpieces, buffet pieces, and head table centerpieces;
decor on columns, arches, and lattice; and delivery
arrangements. 1 1/2 - 3 hour classes available.
Intermediate level.

NEW! Fantasy Fairies, Fantasy People and Fantasy
Flowers: Margie's new invention on August 4,
1999- Fantasy People and Fairies out of balloons will
amaze your clients! Learn how to make these cute small
people for centerpieces and buffet arrangements.
Similar to Fantasy Flowers, It's easy once you learn the
technique! Don't worry, we show you how to make
Fantasy Flowers, too! Bring floral tape, 18" pieces of
18 ga. floral wire, wire cutters, Rubber Cement, and
scissors to class. You have to do this hands-on to
learn it. Take home your own fairy and fantasy person.
1 - 1 1/2 hour class. It would be very helpful if you
could provide a video camera and big screen so people can
see the small work. Intermediate - Advanced level.
Color in Balloon Design: For the serious balloon decorator. We
discuss how color and the combination of color is THE most
influential part of your decor in relation to the MOOD that
your clients want. After a short history of the study of
color and some scientific explanations as to how it works,
we'll get into the nitty gritty of good color harmony in
your design work, and how you can help the mood with
creative use of color in your own office or shop. 1
1/2 class. Overhead projector needed. Taught by Color
Specialist Margie Padgitt, CBA, author of the Color
Therapy Chart and student of color for over 20 years.

Find out how
this ancient practice can help with your business. Business
professionals use meditation to enhance their productivity

learn how to meditate and use self-hypnosis to help achieve
their goals. Learn secrets to quick meditation. The
instructor of this class is a long-time meditation

Using the Internet in your Business
In today’s
world, use of the internet is becoming increasingly
important for any size business. Learning how to use it can
be a good experience. We cover how to use e-mail, how to
find an internet provider, and how to log on to the web and
navigate through browsers and search engines to find what
you want. We discuss web sites and web site marketing, and
how to get a FREE web host. No computers are necessary for
this class. Participants will leave with a basic working
knowledge of the internet and can start using this very
important tool right away! Overhead projector

Using
Barter to Increase Your Business:
People have
been using barter for thousands of years and now there is a
huge increase in the amount of barter transactions due to
the emergence of barter "clubs". You can
really increase your sales by up to 30% and buy things you
need on barter, too. I have been using barter since
1990. Find out how to do "direct" barter,
and what to look for in a barter organization, about the
different clubs, barter online, fees you should expect, and
how your "bottom line" will be affected. 1
