About the Instructor: Margie Padgitt is co-owner of Padgitt Chimney Services, and owner of a party business since 1980 - first as a cake decorator, then a florist and veil designer, and for the past nine years as a Balloon artist and retailer. She has been an instructor for 8 years, and just sold her Balloon Events business to pursue her career as a writer and teacher full-time. Padgitt has her BA in Business Administration and an MA in Professional Writing. She is trained in floral design, is a Certified Balloon Artist, a Color Specialist, and a Certified Chimney Sweep. She is founder and past president of the KC/Midwest Balloon Professionals Association, and is currently serving on the board and is the web designer for that organization. Margie served as director and president of the Midwest Chimney Service Association from 1997 - 1998, president of the Missouri Chimney Services Association from 1993 - 1997, and meeting planner for the Midwest Barter Exchange Network. Padgitt is author of the "Color Therapy Chart and booklet" (1994), and two new books due out soon- "Balloon Arches", and "Balloon Canopies". Another book is in the works called "Fantasy Balloon People and Flowers" and an e-book, "How to Clean Your Own Chimney". Margie has written numerous articles for trade newsletters and magazines such as Paper and Party Retailer, Balloons and Parties Magazine, and Evolving Woman. She is past editor of "Sweeping Missouri" newsletter, "BXI Barter Midwest" newsletter, and is currently the editor of "Balloon News" newsletter for the KC QBN Chapter.
